Mexico 2013, Part 3: Xel-ha Adventures

Right after visiting Tulum, we took a bus over to Xel-ha Park, an aquatic theme park named after Xel-ha, the Mayan ruins nearby.  It was only a 10 minute bus ride, so if you visit Tulum, Xel-Ha Park is a great place to swing by!

Mexico 2013, Part 2: Tulum, the City of Dawn

Shop at Tulum

After poking around downtown, the next morning we headed off to Tulum, a Pre-Columbian Mayan city that once served as a major port for Cobá, another Mayan city further inland. It's the 3rd most visited archeological site in Cancun, after Chichen Itza and Teotihuacan, but it is the most well-preserved.

Peeling Like an Onion!

Mexico was fab but my goodness, I am peeling like crazy now! I've never peeled because of a sunburn before, so I thought I caught some strange disease the first time I noticed huge flakes of skin coming off my arm. But now it's kind of fun picking the bits off ^_^ it's very satisfying to try to get one big piece of skin...sort of like peeling wallpaper I suppose aha

I guess I better start exfoliating instead of peeling myself like a onion? Apple? Banana? The last one is setting myself up for way too many Asian American jokes ahha ^_~

Mexico 2013, Part 1: Flying into Cancun!

The Mask and Beetle Juice!

Here we gooooo - the first post in my Mexico trip recap! Not too many pretty pictures in this post since I was in the airport for most of the day ^^ Our first day in Mexico was pretty low-key because we arrived in the evening and had to wake up early the next day.

Trend Predictions: Spring/Summer 2013, Part 2

And I really took my sweet time putting this post together ^_^;; For those who didn't catch the first one, this post is a followup to Part 1, which focused on clothing, in my S/S 2013 Trend Predictions series. Part 2 will be focusing on makeup, hair, nail polish, and other misc trends. This is not meant to be a comprehensive guide of every S/S 2013 trend out there.  The posts themselves are more of a summary of the latest trends so you can get a feel for the style and look you should be going for in the next few months. I have included as many links as I can that show examples of all these trends for reference :]

A Taste of Cancun

I have 11 mosquito bites on my face, am sunburned in places I never thought could be sunburned, and am bone tired from being at the airport for 24 hours in the last two days (thanks American Airlines), but Cancun was ah-mah-zing :)! Julie and I pretty much hit all the main tourist attractions in the area - Chichen Itza, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, Xel-ha.... Everywhere we went there was just so much beauty, in both the land so steeped in history and in the kindness of the people we met.

Cancun Countdown...

Omg I haven't posted in over 2 friggin weeks...!  But tis for a good reason - I was trying to wrap things up so I could go to Cancun with a light heart :) I swear, sometimes I'm not sure if going on vacations are worth the hassle of trying to get everything done before you leave though :(  Work was nuts and I know there will be a buttload of stuff to do the second I get back :P

BUT I am less than 24 hours away from Cancun, so I can't complain.  I'm super excited to pet all the dolphins, manatees, sea lions, manta rays, and hopefully turtles and iguanas!!!  My goal is to pet at least 5 animals bwahahha ^_^

I think there will be WiFi at the hotel so I can tweet during my travels a bit~

Cancun here I come!
